There's No Fake VO

There is no such thing as real voiceover vs. a fake voiceover. You're not more legit because you do national commercials and movie trailers than if you do voiceovers for indie animation, eLearning or corporate video narration.

When I first decided to run for sport, I was 37 years old. I had never done any kind of running or track although I did take one ear and do track during the season just to follow some boy that I like but just did the events and no running. In any case, there is a sentiment that sometimes you can come across with among runners, that if you do certain types of runs or if you just jog, then you're not a real runner. Or if you go at a certain pace, then you're not a real runner, because you're too slow to call it running. That's BS. If you run, you're a runner. It's the same thing with voiceover.

If you put in the work to do auditions, training and coaching and run a solid business that you can be proud of, then you are a voice actor. If your clients like your work and they pay you a competitive rate for your work, then you're a voice actor.  If you stay engaged in the VoiceOver community and you participate in some way and keep yourself sharp with a trend in the industry, then you are a voice actor.
