Highlights from the 2025 Euro VO Retreat in Amsterdam
This is a recap of the week-long Euro VO Retreat in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which was my first time there. Anna Collins Events & J. Michael Collins host this event in different parts of Europe twice a year. I registered right after I coming back from the Barcelona retreat.
The setup
The event is held in May and October, in various rotating European cities. Registration includes local transportation, meals by a private chef, and in-depth sessions from working voiceover talent, agents, managers and casting directors. It also includes two VO demos produced by JMC Demos, in a cozy setting with fewer than 40 attendees and speakers.
The sessions
Here’s a breakdown of the sessions I attended:
Kelly Moscinski, Voicecaster: Go From No to Whoa in Commercial Auditions, Navigating the Ebbs and Flows of the Industry with Confidence
Carin Gilfry: TV In-Show Narration
J. Michael Collins: Medical Narration, 6 Ways to Book Voiceover Work, All Things Demos
Sumeet Iyengar, Cope Management (voiceover manager)
Billy Collura, CESD (commercial agent)
Arielle Negrin, Atlas Talent (promo and trailer agent)

My notes are not exhaustive—you’ve gotta go and experience the event for yourself!
As a professional writer, I enjoy and am accustomed to taking notes for everything. But when it comes to long-form writing sourced from interviews, podcast show notes and yes, conferences like this one, I’ve been using Otter.ai to help me do the heavy lifting by transcribing conversations for 5 years and counting.
